At most points in their life, someone will suffer from stress and sometimes anxiety. But could it simply be a case of food intolerance that is causing you to feel like this? Or something much more serious?

You may experience stress for any reason, whether it is the start of a new job, a big event in your life, or even changing scenery and moving to another part of the world. The symptoms of stress, including headaches and stomach upsets, can eventually be managed and things return to normal. Unfortunately, however, for some, stress can often become a daily battle which leads to lengthened depression and anxiety.

How do you know if you are suffering from anxiety?

You begin to feel dizzy and light-hearted and have a sense of dread about the event or lifestyle change which is coming up. If you feel down every time you eat a certain food, you may experience the symptoms of food intolerance, which do include headaches. Of course, if your symptoms begin to make you feel down and you don’t know what is causing them, then this can lead to eventual anxiety and depression, in some cases. If you begin to feel like this and you still do not know what is causing your symptoms, then please do consult your GP immediately. It could make you feel so much better if you open up to someone about how you are feeling, and doctors will always treat it confidentially.

So, can food intolerance cause you stress?

Whether it is a vitamin deficiency, lactose intolerance or simple food intolerance to an item that you have overindulged on, it can cause you to feel stressed and upset. Sometimes it can be because of the symptoms that these conditions cause, and sometimes it can be because you simply do not know what is causing these symptoms. If your gut is unhappy because of food intolerance, then it is likely that you will feel unhappy yourself.

Bloated stomach, headache, fatigue?

All of these symptoms are the sign of food intolerance, as well as many other causes! If you are experiencing a bloated stomach, headache, or are suffering from fatigue, then you are likely to feel stressed about your symptoms as well. If you have a big birthday event coming up, or feel your work ethic and ability is suffering because of your symptoms then you are likely to become stressed and anxious.

What foods cause anxiety?

One of the main questions we get asked is whether or not there are certain foods which cause anxiety and depression. You can identify which foods could be causing your symptoms of anxiety and depression by taking an intolerance test. Remember though, certain food can affect a certain individual differently, and just because one food causes you an issue, it doesn’t mean that it will cause another individual the same issue.

At Test Your Intolerance, we are always here to help. If you have any questions about food intolerance or would like to order an intolerance test, please visit www.testyourintolerance.com and speak with our customer service advisors via LiveChat.
