Eating a BBQ With Yeast Intolerance | Test Your Intolerance

Do you have a yeast intolerance?

Summertime has arrived in Britain! Temperatures have exceeded the supposedly unreachable 20*C in Britain! Look outside, nearly everyone has found their summer shorts and located the nearest outside event.

BBQ’s, beer gardens and exercising are all the first call, but you don’t know about the hidden dangers of eating outside! Beer, bread and even some meat contain yeast, and this could ruin your day!

1) Summer is here

Yesss the hot weather is here, but not everyone is looking forward to being outside and attending a BBQ, but it is not necessarily because of the summer heat.

People suffering from a yeast intolerance may not want to attend events with eating outside. Beer, bread and other types of meat often contain yeast, so you can see why people suffering from a yeast intolerance would want to avoid it.

2) Yeast is a common food intolerance item

Many people suffer from various food intolerances but a yeast intolerance is not as well-known compared to other intolerances, such as gluten intolerance, milk intolerance and wheat intolerance. A food intolerance test can help you to find out which intolerance symptoms you need to look out for.

3) A yeast intolerance causes issues

To discover what a yeast intolerance is, we need to know what yeast is. Yeast is a living fungus, and is often used by food companies as an active ingredient to make their foods and drinks, including alcohol. Yeast is often found in baked goods.

Unfortunately, a yeast intolerance occurs like other food intolerances, excluding lactose intolerance. If your body produces an inflammatory response to the yeast proteins, then you are likely to suffer from intolerance symptoms.

4) Intolerance symptoms you may experience at a BBQ

If you are having a common BBQ, then a lot of the foods included will contain yeast. If you have a yeast intolerance, you can expect to suffer from a bloated stomach, a headache and even tiredness, but there many more which you need to look out for!

If you are experiencing these symptoms, you may rule out attending a BBQ in fear that there might not be any free-from alternatives. With a food intolerance test, you do not have to!

5) You might need to avoid condiments

At Test Your Intolerance, we don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but a BBQ will just not be the same if you have a yeast intolerance. Meat should be fine, but unless you have a meat intolerance, but the sauces might not be:

Ketchup, mayonnaise, and even salad cream on your sides can all cause symptoms which you do not want to experience. There is the added caveat that these sauces are not exactly healthy either.

Vinegar itself is comprised of yeast, and you will often find that these sauces will contain vinegar.
